Thai Blvd Bistro (Canoga Park, CA)

Okay, wow... wasn't quite expecting it to be as tasty as it was. The four stars is based off of me having just been there only uno time--might change to five at a later point.

Went w/ a friend. From the street, it was kind of hard to spot. The signage is nice but should be more easily legible from a distance. It's located in a two-story plaza on the bottom floor (if I'm not mistaken, it's beneath a massage place--which we could see at a glance from the street).

Went in around lunch time, wasn't busy (sometimes that's preferable). I was a little skeptical about the flavor since it can sometimes be challenging to find a very tasty Thai place in this part of the valley (in NoHo or Hollywood, it'd be challenging to find a bad Thai restaurant).

We ordered the papaya salad, Mieng Kam, and mango w/ sticky rice. I was so relieved when I smelled the papaya salad as the server set it down--cause y'know, if it smells tasty, it's most likely to BE tasty :D And... IT WAS!! Phew! I know, this can seem dramatic but for somebody who practices intermittent fasting and prefers to savor her food, meals are a big deal!

Anywho...

Papaya Salad--yes, get it!!!

Mieng Kam--LOVED the friggin' presentation!! So cute and sophisticated... fancy :P I always appreciate eating shellfish since the hubs is allergic and I don't order it as much... oh, well... the things we do for true love, haha!

Finally, mango and sticky rice--I don't think I have to say much about this dish since one can't really mess this up unless one of the ingredients is just completely messed up in some way. The traditional Thai dessert came in a heart shape and the overall presentation is super nice, too--simple but nice! I think they could have provided w/ more mango considering they charge a pretty penny for it.

As for the interior--it's cozy and tidy! Love the wooden boards on the wall--that's the trend these days. Actually, come to think of it, I see it A LOT... hmm, getting kind of unoriginal... I digress...

Service was nice, too. Nothing over the top and met the minimum (better than bad service any day).

Will definitely be going back at some point.
